Don't want to be no hipster, no not me
Mar. 19th, 2011 03:57 pmMy right hip has been bothering me lately, intermittently giving me pain when I move or bend in certain ways. Over the past day and a half it stepped up from intermittent to frequent, which is worrying. I rescheduled our riding lesson last night because it was really not feeling good. This morning it was a little better, so we went to the stable. Bizarrely, it felt fine when I was actually riding. I think this is a combination of good timing on my part, so that the ibuprofen took effect right around that time, and that riding does not involve the moves that make my hip twinge. The ride went well; some cantering, some trotting, no falling off. *smile*
It's gotten worse this afternoon again, and I'm finding that I have to be careful about how I bend. It's a little scary to realize I'm moving in that tentative, slow "will this hurt?" mode that I see my MIL using. This is not good, and if it doesn't go away I'm calling the doctor next week.
On the other hand, instead of the lesson we went out to dinner last night at a local Italian restaurant, and had a great time. Teenagers can be really fun, and funny, and sweet, and mine were, and the food was good. Happy family time=WINNING. For realz, Charlieboy.
El Son was letting his hair grow out, and it had reached a point where he strongly resembled Shaggy, from Scooby Doo, especially when he forgot to shave for a couple of days. Today he got himself a buzz cut. He's going to a semi-formal dance at school tonight, and with the new haircut and a suit, I don't know if his friends will recognize him.
