It's been seriously frustrating trying to access LJ the last few days, so I'm going to post while it is up and running. I do not want to transfer my online life to Dreamwidth, I have enough platforms and passwords as it is.

I had a great time with Pati and Jay on Tuesday. The old song I learned in my Girl Scout days keeps running through my head: make new friends, and keep the old, one is silver and the other gold. Pati holds a piece of my history, and it is always easy to be with her, to talk and joke and be honest. We went out for Chinese food for lunch, I made a crockpot pot roast for dinner, and there was beer and much laughter. Jay, who is Very Very Tall, took down the Christmas garlands from the curtain rods for me. Yes, I admit it, there was a last, very subtle bit of holiday decoration still in evidence, mostly because taking them down requires precarious balancing on furniture, or dragging the big stepladder in from the garage. Jay just reached up and took them down...did I mention TALL? AHM was on a poorly-timed overnight business trip to Montreal, so Pati and Jay met us for breakfast the next morning so they could see him as well. Jay called me "little sis" when he hugged me goodbye, making me ridiculously happy.

It's making me wish all over again that Montana wasn't so far away. Hey, if we're living in the future, where are my transporters? Most people want the flying cars, but with the way people drive around here, having to deal with cars above and below me and no clearly marked roads is a scary idea. I just want to be there without the hassle of getting there. Beam me up, already!

And now it's back to work again....expect a big announcement soon!
